The Oud's current set up is with an extra bass string, rather than the extra high one shown in the photos. It can be configured either way, depending on your preference. 

This instrument has matured for three years and has been tested with various tunings. It was created to combine Arabic, Turkish, and electroacoustic Oud characteristics, essentially blending all three. It was designed with carefully selected materials and meticulous acoustic study to eliminate the phenomenon of feedback.
Through my research, I concluded that the high tuning, enhanced with an additional bass string, suits it best of all.
Finally, it features a custom-made amplification system with such sound quality that you can hardly tell whether you’re hearing the Oud itself or the amplifier.
